A new EU initiative - UniCities, led by KTH - aims to support stakeholders in Ukraine in building skills to rebuild cities, while making them climate neutral and sustainable for the future.
This online conference - UniCities Transition Lab Forum, the first in a series - featured speakers from the Ukrainian government, Ukrainian cities, universities, businesses and civil society organizations mobilizing for climate neutral and green reconstruction of Ukrainian cities. Speakers also included representatives from the European Commission and Spanish and Swedish pioneering initiatives in urban climate change adaptation.
- Instead of simply restoring cities to the way they were as quickly and cheaply as possible, a new approach can now be taken: using innovative urban development to create attractive, climate-smart cities.
