Boden has high ambitions in terms of climate work and societal transition, from a variety of actors. Several of these have joined the partnership for Climate Neutral Cities 2030 with the common vision of Climate Neutral Boden 2030. There is a habit of working together on a broad front. Therefore, it is also natural that the local transition team for Climate Neutral Cities 2030 is jointly represented by Boden Municipality, Bodens Energi, Stegra, Naturskyddsföreningen, Boden Business Park, Bodens Utveckling AB, RISE, Bodens näringsfastigheter and Bodenbo.

Boden's local transition team consists of broad and strong representation from Boden Municipality, Boden Business Park, Naturskyddsföreningen, Bodens Energi, Stegra, Bodens Näringsfastigheter, Bodens Utveckling AB, Bodenbo and RISE.

Boden is at the heart of an extremely settlement-intensive region and is an important part of the green transition of society. With the pace of the ongoing societal development taking place here, we also have a responsibility to ensure that it happens in a sustainable way. As one of the pioneer cities of Viable Cities, Boden has the opportunity to further accelerate the transition through strengthened and innovative forms of collaboration and with the Climate Contract as a key tool.

The city is currently working on collecting good examples of how they mobilize and work for the climate transition. They will be here soon!

Boden's declaration of intent

Climate City Contract 2030 is an effort to manage the climate transition that we need to implement in a short time to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees. It is an agreement between municipalities, government agencies and Viable Cities, in which all parties undertake to make a concrete contribution to accelerating the climate transition. The letter of intent is a preparation for signing the contract next year.

Boden invests and tests

To achieve deep change, we need to move from fragmented projects to an ecosystem of efforts that all pull in the same direction. Cities are doing this together with Viable Cities, funders government agencies and other partners, in different constellations and with different objectives. It is about moving beyond dealing with symptoms and instead focusing on underlying problems in our social structure. Here you will find the initiatives and studies within the city that have been granted funding under Viable Cities.
