Climate neutral Borås 2030

Borås's local carbon budget states that both the municipal group and Borås's consumption-based emissions should be reduced by 16% each year. Climate Neutral Borås 2030 aims to realize the significant emission reductions required while creating a fair and inclusive transition. In order to achieve a climate-neutral Borås by 2030, the project has been designed according to four focus areas: Wise Climate Leadership, Smart Co-creation, Brave Mobility and Sustainable Construction.

Within the initiative, the cross-sectoral innovation team will work to strengthen decision-makers in their climate leadership and, together with those who live and work in Borås, find new forms of co-creation. The innovation team is responsible for finding synergies and initiating new projects to reduce Borås' climate impact. All measures and projects are made available in a digital project portfolio. The innovation team produces an annual Climate City Contract and a climate investment plan in accordance with the local carbon budget.
