Climate-neutral Ulricehamn 2030

Ulricehamn joins forces - fair, equal and inclusive!

Ulricehamn hooks arms with Borås.

Borås and Ulricehamn transition arena

Ulricehamn, together with Borås, aims to contribute to the rapid and powerful climate transition required to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. Fair, equal and inclusive innovation work will make this possible.

In the initiative, the cross-sectoral transition team is working in two transition arenas: one local and one regional. In the local arena, the focus areas "sustainable material flows" and "sustainable mobility" are being worked on. In the regional arena, a regional Transition Lab is being established in collaboration with three other cities in the region and regional actors. The Transition Team continuously identifies synergies between ongoing initiatives and work, invites a wide range of stakeholders and develops a project portfolio and roadmap.

The work of Ulricehamn and Borås is characterized by inter-municipal cooperation at both local and regional level; both cities work mutually with learning and exchange of experience.

Climate Neutral Cities 2030 is an important initiative that supports our work for a sustainable future. Through our involvement in the Viable Cities innovation program and the collaboration with Borås as a twin city, we strengthen the opportunities for local and regional cooperation. In Ulricehamn, we see this as an opportunity to take steps towards climate neutrality together with other actors and create a more sustainable everyday life for our residents

The city is currently working on collecting good examples of how they mobilize and work for the climate transition. They will be here soon!

Ulricehamn declaration of intent

Climate City Contract 2030 is an effort to manage the climate transition that we need to implement in a short time to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees. It is an agreement between municipalities, government agencies and Viable Cities, in which all parties undertake to make a concrete contribution to accelerating the climate transition. The letter of intent is a preparation for signing the contract next year.

Ulricehamn invests and tests

To achieve deep change, we need to move from fragmented projects to an ecosystem of efforts that all pull in the same direction. Cities are doing this together with Viable Cities, funders government agencies and other partners, in different constellations and with different objectives. It is about moving beyond dealing with symptoms and instead focusing on underlying problems in our social structure. Here you will find the initiatives and studies within the city that have been granted funding under Viable Cities.
