Härryda is growing and changing in leaps and bounds!
Härryda is an attractive and growing municipality, with great demand for sustainable housing, logistics centers, electricity and energy supply. To succeed in the transition and development, the municipality collaborates with residents, businesses, non-profit organizations, researchers, government agencies and other municipalities in Sweden. Härryda now intends to strengthen collaboration locally, nationally and internationally. Ongoing proactive initiatives by the actors in the project will form the basis for the work.
Härryda municipality's sustainability strategy program is the starting point for the transition work. The program has been developed in broad group collaboration. The authority lies within the Group, but broad and close collaboration with business, research, academia and residents is crucial for the work to have a large-scale effect. In its sustainability strategy program, Härryda Municipality aims to be at the forefront of the work and to be a role model, and it is continuously making great strides in climate and sustainability work.

The letter of intent is a preparation for signing the contract next year.
To achieve deep change, we need to move from fragmented projects to an ecosystem of efforts that all pull in the same direction. Cities are doing this together with Viable Cities, funders government agencies and other partners, in different constellations and with different objectives. It is about moving beyond dealing with symptoms and instead focusing on underlying problems in our social structure. Here you will find the initiatives and studies within the city that have been granted funding under Viable Cities.
