Helsingborg is now joining the municipalities that have signed the declaration of intent for climate-neutral construction projects. The city is thus joining forces with other municipalities for a sustainable future with emission-free construction.

Charlotte G Brynielsson, Sustainability Strategist Viable Cities, Ebba Willerström-Ehrning Project Manager Fossil Free Sweden, Camilla Byström, Program Manager Infrasweden and municipal councillors Amir Jawad (L, Chairman the Environment Committee) and Alexander Svensson (M, Chairman of the Urban Planning Committee) in Helsingborg are linking arms in the work on fossil-free construction contracts.
In June, Viable Cities, together with Fossilfritt Sverige and InfraSweden, published a debate article in Aktuell Hållbarhet urging stakeholders to choose electrification in their building and construction projects. The article was a call for public and private actors to support a joint declaration of intent: that future construction projects should be emission-free. The initiative is in response to the growing demand for electrified machinery.
With Helsingborg's signature, the movement to reduce climate emissions and drive the transition in the construction sector is growing.
Other municipalities that have signed the letter of intent are Eskilstuna Municipality, the City of Gothenburg, Skellefteå Municipality, the City of Stockholm, Strängnäs Municipality, Umeå Municipality, Uppsala Municipality and Östersund Municipality.
