Together with Fossilfritt Sverige and InfraSweden, Viable Cities has published a debate article in Aktuell Hållbarhet that encourages actors to choose electrification in their construction projects.
To achieve climate-neutral cities and communities, we need to transform the construction sector. By choosing electrified machinery and heavy vehicles, we can reduce emissions, improve air quality and create safer, quieter urban environments.
Viable Cities, Fossil Free Sweden and InfraSweden are now bringing together public and private actors behind a joint declaration of intent: to make the construction of the future emission-free. The technology is already in place, the costs of operation and maintenance are lower and Swedish companies are ready. What is needed now is more clients to lead the way. By signing the declaration of intent, we can together create the market needed for climate-neutral and healthy cities.
