2030 Agenda at mid-term; EU meeting on implementation held in Sweden

In mid-March, the Government Offices of Sweden hosted an expert meeting on the 2030 Agenda under the Swedish Presidency. 2023 marks the halfway point in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and it is clear that the work needs to be stepped up if the global goals are to be met on time.

The expert meeting started with a visit to KTH, where Viable Cities was hosted. Daniel Westlén, State Secretary to the Minister for Climate and Environment Romina Pourmokhtari, welcomed the participants and talked about the importance of having a broad perspective on sustainability issues, and that Viable Cities is a good example of this.

- The current challenges facing the world today can be seen as a litmus test for the 2030 Agenda. The world must not only solve them, but also invest in sustainable alternatives.
