Viable Cities is the strategic innovation program for smart and sustainable cities. This is the largest investment to date in Sweden in research and innovation on smart and sustainable cities. We work to accelerate the transition to climate-neutral cities with digitalization and citizen engagement as enablers.
Viable Cities is a catalyst for new forms of cooperation between cities, business, academia, research institutes and civil society, where research and innovation can make a real difference in the energy and climate transition. The time frame for the program is 2017-2029 and is implemented with support from Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas, where the Swedish Energy Agency is the main responsible. KTH is the host organization.
