As part of Sweden's EU Presidency program, on April 12, the Swedish Research and Innovation Office in Brussels (SWERI) hosted a seminar on EU Missions, focusing on how the missions are translated from policy to implementation. The event provided an overview of the implementation of the missions from a Swedish perspective. The speakers represented the broader mission perspective, but also the focus areas of Cancer, Climate Neutral and Smart Cities and Climate Adaptation.
Viable Cities Internationalization Strategist Albert Edman, who is also a Senior Project Manager at RISE and focus area leader for Cities and Communities in Change, participated in the seminar in a panel discussion together with Ebba Hallersjö Hult, co-founder and head of the mission-oriented innovation hubs Nollvision Cancer, Erika Augustinsson, innovation strategist at Region Blekinge, and Neville Reeve, who has extensive experience from the European Commission's Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD).
- It was an exciting conversation about synergies between the different EU missions, and our experience is relevant in several areas.
