We are celebrating the fact that Olga Kordas, Program Director for Viable Cities, is now ranked number 2 on Aktuell Hållbarhet’s list of Sweden’s most influential figures in sustainability!
The award reflects the impact Viable Cities has had since its launch in 2017, with 48 municipalities now united around the goal of achieving climate-neutral cities by 2030, while more than 300 stakeholders recently gathered in Eskilstuna to take the next step in the transition.
It is in cities that the climate transition is taking place—here and now.

Today, 48 cities are part of Viable Cities, and more than half of Sweden’s population lives in a municipality working toward the shared mission of climate-neutral cities by 2030, ensuring a good life for all within the planet’s limits.
And the timing of the announcement could hardly be better.
Yesterday marked the conclusion of our 20th Transition Lab Forum, a platform for learning, collaboration, and development. In the host city of Eskilstuna, 14 KSO representatives and over 300 participants gathered to strengthen local collaboration with the business community and rally support for the climate transition.
Another important milestone during the event was the agreement between Fossil-Free Sweden and Viable Cities, where Svante Axelsson, national coordinator for Fossil-Free Sweden, and Olga Kordas agreed to jointly advocate for public procurement to increase demand for fossil-free and climate-neutral solutions in the construction and civil engineering sector.
We have so much to celebrate together—and even more to do!
