This innovation project focuses on climate-neutral urban logistics. The way people and goods are transported is changing and driven by interacting societal and technological trends. These are mainly: the rapid growth of the service society, the increasing use of alternative fuels, and ultimately self-driving vehicles and systems. A fundamental shift is taking place away from personally owned, driver-driven vehicles towards a future mobility system based on solutions such as driverless vehicles and shared mobility.
In this innovation project, we plan, together with users and need owners, to further develop a ground-based automated delivery system to explore and understand the environmental impact of urban logistics and how the transition to autonomous solutions affects society and infrastructure. The project will contribute to Agenda 2030 goals 9, sustainable industrial innovations and infrastructure, 11, sustainable cities and communities, and 12, sustainable consumption and production.
