Norrliden

- a one million program for the climate

In Sweden and Europe, there is a significant property portfolio from the 1960s and 1970s with extensive renovation needs and social exclusion. Many property owners are facing future investment decisions that will have a major positive or negative climate impact depending on the choices made.

What business models are suitable for sharing investment and operating costs between property owners for e.g. charging points, energy communities and energy sharing? What synergies exist between climate-smart solutions and the attractiveness of an area? How to create conditions for large-scale use of recycled materials in renovation, obtaining tenant acceptance and user participation?

In the feasibility study "Norrliden - A million program for the climate", Kalmar municipality joins forces with Kalmarhem AB, GodaHus and a number of property owners to identify, prioritize and plan effective climate investments, with the aim of accelerating the climate transition.

The initiative is part of the Viable Cities call #13.
