Transition Lab Forum 20: Circular steps with the business community for climate-neutral cities by 2030

A warm welcome to Transition Lab Forum 20 Live on March 25, 2026, organized by Eskilstuna Municipality and Viable Cities!
In a time marked by climate crises, geopolitical tensions, and disinformation, it is crucial that municipalities, business civil society . By accelerating the transition to climate-neutral cities, we strengthen competitiveness, quality of life, and societal resilience.
The Climate Neutral Cities 2030 initiative mobilizes a broad ecosystem of actors, with the business community playing a central role. The commitment and innovative power of companies are crucial to driving local transition and enabling solutions in areas such as:
  • sustainable transport
  • secure value chains
  • local energy transition
Climate change is already affecting business in various ways, such as disruptions in supply chains and changes in production conditions. This underscores the need for circular business models and collaboration on sustainable land use and development. Accelerating the transition is therefore not only a climate measure, but also a strategic investment in our business our cities. By reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, strengthening our resilience to extreme weather, and developing climate-smart infrastructure, we are also creating economically and socially sustainable societies.

We invite you to Transition Lab Forum 20 in Eskilstuna, which this time will be held in conjunction with Eskilstuna Climate Evolution*. Together, we will explore how collaboration with the business community can leverage climate change while strengthening competitiveness and society's preparedness for current and future crises.

Viable Cities' mission is Climate Neutral Cities 2030 with a good life for everyone within the planet's boundaries. Within the Climate Neutral Cities 2030 initiative, 48 Swedish cities are working together with several national government agencies Viable Cities to lead the way in climate transition. The Transition Lab Forum is a recurring central arena for joint learning within the initiative. Over three days, we deepen and accelerate our knowledge and understanding of a theme that is important for accelerating the transition to Climate Neutral Cities 2030.

Climate Evolution* is Eskilstuna's annual event that brings together the business community, organizations, associations, universities, and public actors to inspire, network, and engage in creating a climate-positive Eskilstuna.
