Innovation Week 2024

public organisations need to get better at scaling and spreading smart solutions. The Innovation Week is dedicated to innovation by and for public organisations. During the week, we focus on sharing and spreading smart solutions between different parts of public organisations. All actors who contribute to public organisations being able to meet the challenges of the future are welcome to organize activities during the week. What we all have in common is that we are working for a more innovative public Sweden. Innovation Week is an initiative from SSKR, Vinnova and the Swedish Agency for Public Procurement, and Viable Cities is a partner. September 30th

09:00-14:30 | Together from the start - launch of Innovation Week
The initiators of the Innovation Week together with partners invite you to a seminar on how we create conditions for dissemination and scaling. We address diffusion and scaling both from the perspective of the system as a whole, but also the conditions in each individual organization. Read more about this point here.

10:00-10:30 | Together from the beginning - From government to governance
What is the difference between government and governance and why do we need to shift from one to the other? We will clarify the concepts and explain what this will mean for the public sector's work to transition to a more sustainable and robust future. Read more about this topic here.

Many of the challenges we face as a society are not the responsibility of a single organization but require the collaboration of a whole system of actors. To make it work, we need to work and lead across borders and sometimes we need to change the system. Read more about this point here.

How to create transformative systemic change while scaling the concept? Viable Cities has been working with mission-driven innovation since 2018 and has implemented initiatives in several Swedish cities and also acted as an international role model. Read more on this point here.

Sweden is well placed to use artificial intelligence to create the world's most innovative and equitable welfare. Welcome to a conversation at the National Innovation Week on the transformational capacity of smaller municipalities. We will discuss how municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants can run research and innovation projects to create attractive, circular and climate-neutral communities.
