2030 Secretariat: Heavy vehicles, light carbon footprint

The 2030 Secretariat invites you to a webinar providing three positive examples of how heavy transport can become climate smart, fast, light and profitable. The number of electric and gas-powered trucks is growing, but they still account for only one fifth of sales and less than one percent of traffic. The average age of a heavy-duty truck is 11 years. To rapidly reduce emissions from freight transport, we need to work with existing vehicles. What is the role of fuel, tires and the driver in reducing the carbon footprint of existing on-road heavy vehicles? Together with industry stakeholders and experts, they will present concrete solutions, discuss what is needed and what conditions exist to rapidly reduce emissions from heavy-duty transport.
